Hmmmmm.... seems I only write here like once every year or even more. And here I planned on this being an actual thing for me. Oh well.
Well, another year, another long list of changes and what not. Found gainful employment once again. Though I seem to pick jobs that are doomed to be short lived from the beginning. This time I was offered an opportunity to do some care giving and house cleaning for an older gentleman I know through my church ( he's 92. thus the short lived part >_> ). Now, I'm not licensed or certified so what I can do beyond cooking and cleaning is pretty limited, but the whole package is part of what drew me to it. I basically am rooming with the guy, but for FREE. The "compensation package" I get for this job is a free room, free internet, free basic cable (though that I don't really use ever) and $405 a week. Pretty sweet deal. Even with the stupid high taxes I have to pay since the IRS sees me as a business AND I'm the sole proprietor AND I'm self-employed. Fun stuff. Now, certain responsibilities I have are less glorious than others, but I am not complaining. I actually kind of LIKE the job over all.
In other news, this year I started getting WAY more into Warhammer 40k. Now, I've had my Tau models for upwards of probably 5 or 6 years at this point ( EDIT: looking back through my blog, had this stuff for over 8 YEARS. time gone. . . ), but was never really into actually playing much (having a "normal" job kinda killed my chances) and DEFINITELY not painting much (again, job blocked, but also didn't have the confidence in my self to do it either). Well, now I'm kinda full hog going into it. ALL of it. I plan to have my 2000 point tournament list painted soonish. I plan to attend the GTGT Prime in Pleasanton CA on Aug 1-3. Now, because of the sort of 24/7 nature of my job, this will be difficult to work out with his daughter ( who by the way also lives here. . . long story short, medical need and she's old enough to be my grandma >_> ) but if all goes well, this will be my first official BIG tournament event. Several others from the local 40k scene are going as well, so if all works out Team Otto's will be 8+ strong this year :D
Outside of all that, late last year, I got my THIRD car. Yes, I'm not even 30 years old yet, and I'm already on my THIRD car. This does not bode well for my future. . . But on a more positive note, I LOVE my car. Nissan Versa Hatchback. Roomy, comfortable, nice enough sound system, and room to haul stuff. It's decent on gas, rides smooth, and so far so good.
Also late last year, I made a big choice. At least it was big for me. I decided it's high time I loose the weight. With my medical history, my family medical history, it was kinda sorta WAY overdue. I have my ups and downs, but so far is mostly down. 36 lbs down to be precise. Still have a LONG way to go, and I still have difficulty sometimes ( sweet tooth like no other, still LOVE my chicken and steak, among other things >_> ). What it has got me back into doing is riding my bike. I used to LOVE riding my bike. I used to ride my bike to seminary at 5am, then to school even though it was a good 10+ mile ride plus the ride home. I had an accident in my junior year that pretty much ended that, but only cause it totaled my bike not cause of any major injury ( mostly my pride >_> ).
Well, that's pretty much it for now. Kinda hope to post more here in the coming time, but if not I'll see you in another year, lol.
